- <p> "I don't want to lose sight of what's important here -- the
- team, not the head coach." That's the Los Angeles Raiders' Art
- Shell, 42, self-effacing as ever, speaking after his
- appointment as the first black head coach in the National
- Football League in 63 years. Now there's business to attend to
- -- mainly a sagging team that needs a lift. The old man got a
- lift as well. His son Art III, 15, told him, "Dad, I'm proud to
- be named after you." That, said the coach, "made me really
- happy."
